About Me

I am an aspiring Software Engineer with interests in Application Development, Mathematics, FinTech, and Data Science. I eagerly seek growth through the cultivation of my skills and learning new technologies.

My passion is bridging the gap between the computer sciences and mathematics, from both a philosophical and technical standpoint, in a way that would encourage the engineering of clever solutions to significant problems that have an impact on the real world.

Ultimately, having both a background in Mathematics as well as Computer Science, I hope to supplement my future endeavors as a Software Engineer using my skills in Mathematics as a foundation along with a pursuit for higher education.

Projects

Formula 1 Standings Predictions

Analysis of past Formula 1 Championship driver standings through supervised machine learning to predict future performance of drivers and an exploration into external bias that may influence the models created.

Huffman Coding

Lossless data compression algorithm implemented using Huffman Coding, an industry standard in compression commonly used in formats like GZIP, BZIP2, PKZIP, etc. Program is a greedy implementation allowing for both compress and uncompress functionality.

Traffic Lights

Traffic Light Controller simulating a 6-way, 4-street intersection with 20 possible traffic light states. State transitions are defined by sensors that trigger on presence of a vehicle on the street in order to both minimize vehicle time spent at red lights and maximize traffic flow.

Budgeting Calculator

Financial Budgeting Tool using the 50/30/20 rule meant to define proper income allowances into several buckets: Wants, Needs, Savings, and Investment Accounts. This script is not meant as financial advice and should be used purely as insight into what a foundational budget may look like.

Education

University of California,
San Diego

September 2018 - July 2022

Mathematics-Computer Science B.S.

As a student at UCSD engaged in challenging curriculum in both Mathematics and Computer Science, I have had the opportunity to take technical classes that are often interweaved with each other.

Relevant Courses: Advanced Data Strutures, Systems Programming, Design and Analysis of Algorithms , Components and Design Techniques for Digital Systems, Software Engineering, Discrete Mathematics and Graph Theory, Numerical Analysis: Linear Algebra & Approximation & Nonlinear Equations, and Statistical Methods.

Experience

VerityStream

San Diego, CA
June 2021 - November 2021

Software Development Intern

Developed CredentialStream, a healthcare provider lifecycle management solution built using .NET and Angular frameworks. On an AGILE development cycle managed in Azure DevOps, I developed front-end solutions in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to add and fix user-friendly UI and increase page responsiveness. Improved load times by over 25% by optimizing content size and compressing data. Improved back-end services in C# by establishing connections to MS SQL Server ensuring proper population of data on the front-end and updates to SQL scripts.

Nestle Toll House

Eastvale, CA
October 2017 - August 2018

Shift Lead

Shift Lead at Nestle Toll House often entailed long hours of working the store. Responsible for all opening/closing operations and training of new employees. Duties included daily interactions with POS Software, customer service, baking, serving food, store finances, and cleaning.

Kumon North America

Mira Loma, CA
August 2016 - August 2017

Mathematics Tutor

Educated young students through engaging math curriculum ranging from Algebra to Calculus. Properly articulated ideas and concepts in a manner where students would be engaged and curious with mathematics through the cultivation of their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Worked with students of all backgrounds and ages, bolstering my ability to teach, learn, and communicate ideas in an all constructive environment.
